RIBA Gloucestershire hosted a Regional First, as we are the first branch outside of London to host an event steered towards Senior Members and their families, in a similar format to the prestigious Doric Club Annual Lunch. Members had a fantastic and full day of activities as we received a tour of the Grade 2* listed Elmore Court, a tour of the RIBA National Award winning building ‘The Gillyflower’ designed by Stroud based architects Millar Howard Workshop, and Tomas Millar provided a virtual reality demonstration with members walking around Gloucester Cloisters from the comfort of the sofas within Elmore Court! The event was complimented with a ploughman’s lunch, that was kindly subsidised by the RIBA Local Initiative Fund.
Thank you to Tomas Millar, Tom Howard and Fred Palmer of M+H Workshop, and Elmore Court, for taking the time to speak to our members and help host a fantastic day.
